Life/2021 Nephrology Campus
Life/2021 was a medical congress that took place in September 2021. With lectures, debates, and case-based presentations, it covered topics of immediate relevance for clinical practice presented by reputed scientists and clinical practitioners from all over the world. Those topics revolved around nephrology, especially chronic kidney disease managament, dialysis, and renal replacement therapy. The sessions were then transformed into webinars.
My Contribution
I translated and subtitled around 30 of these webinars from English into Spanish, totalling around 50,000 words, allowing Spanish-speaking clinicians to stay on top of the international advancements in nephrology.
A Guide to Summer Skincare
Aesop is a luxury cosmetics brand that formulates skin, hair and body care products of the finest quality. They recently started operating in Spain.
My Contribution
I translated some of the website content from English into Spanish, including this blog post about summer skincare, thereby helping the brand increase its authority as a skincare expert among its Spanish-speaking audience.
Why Barcelona Locals Really Hate Tourists
The Independent is a British newspaper established in 1986. Back in 2017, when I was living in Barcelona, they reached out to me to write an article about the rising feeling of rejection towards tourism among the local population.
My Contribution
I wrote the original article in English, totalling 1,200 words, helping British people undestand the reasons behind the “Tourist Go Home” messages that started appearing in the streets of Barcelona back then.
Reavey Brothers Short Film
Reavey Brothers is a short film based on the true story of the Reavey Brother killings in a trouble-ridden 1976 Northern Ireland, written and directed by their nephew John Reavey.
My Contribution
I translated and subtitled the film from English into Spanish, including spotting.
Cryptocurrency Legislation in Spain
Tokize is a website about cryptocurrencies and NFTs where readers can learn about the latest news and trends.
My Contribution
As a copywriter, I wrote a 2,700-word, SEO-optimised blog post in Spanish about the new crypto legislation in Spain and translated several other articles from English, making Spaniards aware of their new tax obligations if operating with cryptocurrencies.
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
The European Lung Foundation is a patient-led organisation that works internationally to bring patients and the public together with healthcare professionals to improve lung health and advance diagnosis, treatment and care. They have an information hub about lung conditions for patients, including fact sheets explaining signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
My Contribution
I translated some lung condition fact sheets for patients, including this one about idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), from English into Spanish, helping Spanish-speaking people know this disease and what to expect if they have it.
